Two more tough losses for the Pirates tack on for a season record of 3-5 after 8 games. John Hammar's 4 goals against the Venom was not enough to keep them out of the win column. An overall disappointing effort against the Rage this past Sunday emphasized the lack of urgency this team needs to win games.

After the game Sunday, Festivus came late for the Pirates. A metal pole was placed in the center of the room and the airing of grievances took place. There were no feats of strength, but I believe next year the tradition will resume. Hamm's was the meal of choice.

The Pirates have yet another week off before battling the Moose on January 16. With many former Pirates on the Moose roster, this single meeting of the two teams this season should be an intense match-up.
